PEM Fuel Cell Catalysts

Project description

This project aims at investigating activity, stability and durability of supported nanoparticulate, bulk and thin film Pt and Pt-based electro-catalysts for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs).

The effects of different factors and conditions on the reactions involved in oxygen reduction, carbon monoxide and methanol electro-oxidation reactions are of particular interest. The employed catalysts are characterized electrochemically, as well as physiochemically.

The project involves close collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and industrial collaborator Danish Power Systems (DPS).
